Objectives
and components
This custom designed half-day or one-day
workshop is intended for people with little or no public
speaking experience who occasionally have to make public
presentations . It is designed to provide
a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of effective presentations
and to increase their comfort level through a combination
of formal presentation and practical exercises. The workshop
and related material are available in both English and
French.
The objectives of this workshop are:
- To introduce participants to the fundamentals of effective
presentation techniques
- To give an opportunity for participants to make a
short presentation
- To provide participants with feedback on their performance
Participants in the workshop will learn how to:
- Define their presentation’s objectives
- Design a memorable close
- Create an interesting opening
- Structure the content
- Add spice to their presentation
- Design powerful visual aids
- Tailor their presentation to their audience
- Create “cheat sheets”
- Maximize the power of body language
Participants have an opportunity to prepare and deliver
two short presentations on a topic relevant to their responsibilities.
The videotaped presentations are then reviewed with critiques
and tips for improvement. Participants will also receive
a practical document outlining the main points covered
during the workshop.
Class size
In order to provide optimal personalized
coaching, the number of participants in the one-day workshop
is limited to six (6) persons. The half-day workshop can
accommodate a maximum of three (3) participants.
Technical
requirements
The workshop is usually conducted on the client’s
premises. The basic equipment requirements are a table,
chairs and a projection screen. Immedia Communications
can conduct the course at an outside location at additional
cost.
