Combination workshop
Positive
Media Relations And Powerful Presentations
Objectives
This custom designed two-day workshop is
intended to meet the needs of people who occasionally have
to give interviews to the media and/or make public presentations
to various audiences.
It is designed to provide participants with
a basic knowledge of the media and to increase their comfort
level during interviews, presentations and speeches, through
a combination of formal presentation and practical exercises.
The media component of the workshop will
familiarize participants to the needs of the media and
will help them develop and articulate powerful messages.
It will enable participants to identify and use “trap” questions
and to become proactive in dealing with journalists.
The presentation component provides participants
with a wealth of tips from structuring to delivering winning
presentations and speeches.
The workshop and all related material are available in
French and English.
Structure
Practice constitutes the key element of
the workshop. Following a segment of formal presentation,
each participant is interviewed at least twice on camera
on issues within his/her areas of responsibility. Participants
are also called upon to prepare and deliver two short presentations.
The interviews and presentations are then
reviewed with comments identifying strengths and weaknesses
and ways to improve performance.
The formal presentation is done with computer-generated
slides and pertinent audio-visual material.
A manual summarizing the course content
is provided to participants .
